Story
Lohikäärme II is a small steam loop built in 1992. Its steam engine has a power of about one Horsepower, and its boiler is a tubular flow-through boiler heated by liquefied petroleum gas. Its machinery was originally mounted on an aluminum canoe. The current fiberglass frame is made in England. The dragon is steered at the helm, and there is a telegram in it for communication between the engineer and the skipper.
The original aircraft of the boat was an English Stuart A – type aircraft, which was replaced in 2000 by an English Reeves Commander compound aircraft. Its castings had been ordered from England, the final assembly was done by the shipowners themselves: after the project was frozen by Hans, it was completed by Mikael. The diameters of the machine’s cylinders are 50 and 70 mm, the stroke length is 60 mm, the diameter of the machine pump is 12.7 mm and the stroke length is 10-14 mm. The condenser cooling water is provided by a Jabco pump equipped with a reversing valve. This is a heat exchanger condenser with 69 tubes. The boiler is made of a Dima high – pressure washer with a wall thickness of 2.7 mm, a volume of 1.18 liters and a hot surface of 0.591 square meters. The operating pressure is 4-7 bar, which gives the vessel a speed of 4-5 knots.
